This handwoven textile is crafted using the Tsuzureori weaving technique in which the motif warp threads are woven, and the background warp threads are left exposed creating a translucent effect. The weft threads are twisted with a heat-melting adhesive. After the weaving process is completed, these threads are then heated and melted to firmly secure the motif in place. The translucency and intricate spaces evoke an image of the surface of the sea.
