This textile showcases one of the renowned Nishijinori weaving techniques known as Nishiki. Generally, Nishiki is recognized for its multicolored luxurious weave, however this piece is monochromatic, with the use of black to depict an abstract flower in the Hishimonyo [diamond pattern]. The visual effect of the motif appearing to emerge from the fabric is achieved through the woven pattern.
