The weft thread of this textile is a twisted mixture of Lamé and Hakuito [a thread made from finely cut Washi paper embellished with materials such as lacquer, gold, or silver]. Depending on the degree of twist, the sheen of the mixed Lamé thread varies, and this subtle change in luster is taken advantage of to produce this piece. Additionally, with an innovative weaving technique, a sense of movement is created as if the warp threads are gently swaying. This fabric is thus characterized by its delicate flowing luster and elegant sparkle.
