Crafted from a soft fabric woven with silk thread, this textile features a motif drawn in Kurohaku [oxidized silver leaf], and further adorned with the Hiranui embroidery technique. The stitch is embroidered in a way that fills in the space by closely keeping the stitches together, without gaps, and thus creates a flat pattern. In this way, a three-dimensional design can be achieved as the technique allows for flexibility in the direction of the embroidery stitch. In this piece, despite the wave motif being depicted in the same black hue, the embroidery technique and the oxidized silver create a subtle difference in appearance, showcasing refined and intricate artistry.
