This textile showcases the renowned Nishijinori weaving technique known as Hikihaku, which uses weft threads that are made by finely cutting the Haku into threads. Haku is Washi paper embellished with materials such as lacquer, gold, or silver. The Haku in this piece is crafted using a silver lens effect polyester film, which is not commonly used for textiles. By applying a black gradation to this silver film, a brilliant variation of hue is achieved in the design.
