Haku is Washi paper embellished with materials such as lacquer, gold, or silver. The Haku in this piece is coated with black lacquer and adorned with mica to add a lustrous and kaleidoscopic finish. Depending on the angle of view, the fabric thus exhibits a subtle variation of hues, unveiling a spectrum of colors from within the blackness.
