G-17
This textile showcases the Keiyoroke weaving technique in which fine warp threads are set up more loosely than usual to enable an intricate weave with an undulating pattern. By using lightly twisted weft threads, spaces can be strategically created in both the warp and the weft thread, enabling a sheer fabric to be produced. This exceptionally fine finish evokes the delicate beauty of Seminohane [the wings of the cicada].
