This textile draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese technique known as Inden, in which patterns are intricately drawn on deerskin leather using lacquer. Crafted with a matte Hakuito [a thread made from finely cut Washi paper embellished with materials such as lacquer, gold, or silver], the design allows the pattern to become more prominent when viewed from certain angles. When held up to the light, the waves take on a subtle three-dimensional appearance.
